The module requirements for research projects may have changed since these examples were written. Refer to your module guidelines to make sure that you address all of the current assessment criteria.
The following two examples have been annotated with academic comments. This is to help you understand why they achieved a good 2:1 mark but also, more importantly, how the marks could have been improved.

Deadlines for the submission of theses for the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and doctoral degrees are determined on an individual basis. Details about terms of enrolment for these degrees are available from Te Mata Kairangi the School of Graduate Research.
Deadlines for the submission of dissertations and theses for graduate qualifications are prescribed in section 12 of the Personal Programmes of Study Regulations.

Electronic dissertations submitted through this process will appear and be archived in the Brown Digital Repository (BDR).
Ph.D. candidates at Brown must file their dissertations electronically. Brown’s electronic theses and dissertation (ETD) system was developed by the Graduate School and the University Library and launched in 2008. The system is designed to collect and archive the final dissertation as a text-based PDF file.

Uni dissertation
This collection contains open access dissertations of the University of Pennsylvania. As of December 2015, the University of Pennsylvania requires open access publication of PhD dissertations in ScholarlyCommons. Prior to that date, dissertations were made openly available at the author’s request.
